The design, fit and color of apparel, separately and together, contribute to your
concept of yourself on any given day. Color can make your skin glow and look vibrant or
it can make you look as if you’ve had the flu for a week. The design and fit can make you
look as if you’re in your Mother’s clothes, or, conversely, your daughter’s.
RUBENESQUE carries several lines of ready made clothing, some of which are exclusive
to the Portland area, such as Linda Lundstrom, Enchanted Goddesses and Leda. And if you don’t
find what you’re looking for, I am able to design and sew something just for you.
As a certified bra fitter, I am very aware that the “fit” of the garment is very
dependent upon what’s underneath. To that end, I stock bras in sizes that aren’t
found in the typical “mall” store. I also make bras in colors and fabrics unavailable in the stores.
My goal at RUBENESQUE is to provide some interesting choices and alternatives
for the woman who, for the most part, the fashion industry has ignored.
